Passed away on the night of Monday August 13, 2001; aged a fraction below 90 years.
Husband of Muriel Evelyn. Father of Sam and Robin, John and Gweneth, Peter and Anne, David and Suzanne, and Rosemary. Grandfather of Simon and Kristina, Andrew and Liane, Brian, Kelvin, Sarah-Jane, Karen and Michael, Fiona and Mark, Ruth, Stephen, Malcolm, Louise, and Sandra. Great-grandfather of Isabella, Zoe, Jessica, James, Matthew, Ashley, Aiden, Caleb, and Hannah.
Rest in peace Samuel. You've finally made it to the next planet. You'll always be remembered.
On Sunday we celebrated his 90th birthday with a party at a local restaurant. Grandad was in good spirits.
On Monday he was taken to hospital in the evening because of some minor heart troubles. At the hospital his condition fluctuated until 9:30pm he slipped into a coma. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was not in any pain.
He loved to share his knowledge and faith with others, and had a enthusiasm for mandarin trees and for bee keeping. He was a keen gardener and his hard work ethic was obvious to all that knew him.
During his lifetime he built many shops and houses. He was a philanthropist who supported Christian ministries. His descendants all benefitted from his generosity.
He has left his family with a great legacy.
